Your Texas Rangers trade away Yu to the Dodgers for some prospects. Damn. That said, our hitting coach has not done well. Or our players have under performed. Or both. Just frustrating.JGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03484177538269519840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6949884470304552683.post-6543579010057341972017-08-01T21:25:50.679-05:002017-08-01T21:25:50.679-05:00Sorry - one more thing. Then I looked it up - there are actually 98 rounds in a draft - 98 freakin rounds? This is the best guy to be the hitting coach? Really? http://www.mymlbdraft.com/1994/round98/

Ok - I did further research, and discovered that (in modern times) - they have reduced the number of rounds.... but it's still 40! 40!
http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/draft/y2014/drafttracker.jsp

Ok - what a silly system. jeffreyevanfischerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00022389170733448826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6949884470304552683.post-88598422267720247992017-08-01T21:19:31.287-05:002017-08-01T21:19:31.287-05:00Since I had no idea who the hitting coach is - I w...Since I had no idea who the hitting coach is - I went ahead and looked him up. Still don't know. There HAS to be someone better than this.

Anthony Joseph Iapoce (born August 23, 1973) is the hitting coach for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Iapoce played college baseball at Lamar University and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 33rd round of the 1994 Major League Baseball Draft.[1] He played in the Brewers organization until 2000 and spent 2002 and 2003 in the Florida Marlins organization. He spent 2004 and 2005 playing for the Gary SouthShore Railcats of the Northern League.

Prior to the 2016 season, Iapoce was hired by the Texas Rangers to be their hitting coach.[2]

PS. As I wrote this, Gallo just hit a 3 Run Bomb. OF course- we are still losing however.jeffreyevanfischerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00022389170733448826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6949884470304552683.post-63235981330144127652017-07-31T22:26:25.711-05:002017-07-31T22:26:25.711-05:00I agree. This team had pretty much the whole lineup batting well below .250 for at least a couple months to start the season. Yet the hitting coach and Banny got a pass. What I am confused eve more about, however, is why does the Manager and General Manager seemingly get a free pass? You don't hear anything about Banny being on the chopping block - or better - Jon Daniels. I know Daniels was once considered the "Golden Child" - but what has he done in the last several years that has been all that impressive? Does he really understand talent evaluation? Or better- does he have any idea how a team can gel together? I guess I just don't get it - it's time from a major change - and although should be obvious - only play the young guys from here on out.jeffreyevanfischerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00022389170733448826noreply@blogger.com
