Rangers/Holland Win 2-1 In Pitching Duel Versus Detroit/Verlander

Glass Half Empty / Afternoon Cloud: Shaky first inning by Doogie Holland, gave up a solo shot in the first inning.

Glass Half Full / Silver Lining: But, that homer and 2 other hits and 1 BB was all that Holland gave up in 7.2 IP.  Josh continues to hit in August.  Nellie and Olt had the 2 RBI's.  And Olt had the pinch hit game winning hit.

Thoughts / Observations / Sidenotes: Oh please let Holland pitch like this down the stretch.

Rangers are up 5.5 and 7 games against the A's and Halos respectively going into today's day game.

Yu is up today, he and Wash had a talk after his last in a string of tough starts.

This game rocked - one of the biggest wins of the season, thus far.

What is wrong with this commentator and article of this blog post? Did you people forget the 40th Anniversary Ceremony of the Rangers that occurred before the game? Major, Major coolness - brought back a lot of "average" (let's face it - it's the Rangers) memories. Of course, seemed to be about 40% Present Team. Steve Buechelle - really?

Yeah, the pre-game 40th anniversary team was neat but, I still think the 2-1 pitching duel between Holland and Verlander resulting in a Rangers' win was a little cooler and more important.
