Evan Grant Calls this the Worst Off Season Ever. Really?!?!?!?
"the worst off-season in the history of off-seasons...""?!?!? Tap the breaks there Evan Grant and all you guys that are buying into this stuff. How soon we forget how bad it was not so long ago. Is Grant saying this is worse than over-paying for A-Rod and handcuffing the Rangers for years? Or what about signing Chan Ho Park as your ace and again overpaying. Or signing Rafael Palmeiro or Andres Galarraga or [insert name of aging position player], year in and year out. As it stands here's the batting order:
Glass Half Empty / Afternoon Cloud: Lost Josh, an All-Star and MVP and Michael Young, Mr. Ranger.
Glass Half Full / Silver Lining: Young had asked to be traded 2 out of the last 3 years, now he got his wish, just a little delayed. And again, which Josh did the Rangers lose? The Rangers definitely now do not have to deal with the distraction of having him in the clubhouse. And now the Halos get Josh and CJ Wilson, maybe they'll room together on the road, do I hear the theme song from the "Odd Couple"?
Thoughts / Observations / Sidenotes: OK, Wash has to manage this team. Change the batting order when the stats dictate it (i.e. the opposite of leaving Josh in the 3 hole despite him slumping last year), try different combos in the outfield, etc. Let's see what happens.
