Is it bad that going into tonight's game versus the Rockies your Rangers have lost 7 of the last 10?

Glass Half Empty / Afternoon Cloud: Yes. And as I write this they're losing 5-1 to the Rockies.

Glass Half Full / Silver Lining: Somehow they're only 2 GB in the division.

Thoughts / Observations / Sidenotes: Can someone explain to me why we have a home/away inter league series versus Colorado? I am and have been for some time done with inter league play. Why not have more division games? More games against wild card rivals?

Yes and you count another loss with this one as well. I don't know what has happened to this team over last 10 games - but not good. So strange and so inconsistent. Ron may not "know" baseball.

Look at this shit - I didn't realize it has got this bad.

It was so low that the bright pitching spot for the team was the scoreless inning by new power lefty Mitch Moreland. Yes, Moreland. The first baseman came on in the eighth to save the bullpen, featuring a 90-94 mph fastball. He retired the side in order. It was the only perfect inning for the Rangers on Tuesday and only the third of the two-game series.

Unless the Rangers seriously consider moving Moreland, formerly a college reliever at Mississippi State, back to the bullpen, it did nothing to solve the club’s major current issue

Namely: Short starts and overworked relievers.

And there's this.
For the third time in four starts, Ross was boxed around badly by the opposition. Ogando, called on to keep the Rangers within striking distance, continued a dreadful slide that seems to coincide with him pitching three consecutive days in late April.

From last night's game (home) against the "Bronx Bomber" Rockies.... Colby Lewis. Drilled. Again. Are we sure he is back healthy?

Jeff, good point re the pitching. As bad as the offense has been it's not like the pitching is squared away and been brilliant. Especially Yu, Perez, Lewis, Ross and Ogando looking very ordinary to bad here recently.

We NEED this one against the Sox. Good Cowboys Draft Pick, even if we had to give up a 3 to move up. Replacing a DeMarcus with another Demarcus - at a much cheaper rate.
